Baltimore

My sister and brother-in-law were in Baltimore last weekend for a towing convention and meeting so we decided to make the 5 hour drive to see them. I have been missing my sister so it wasn't even a question of "would it be worth it?" They got there thursday(15th) but we couldn't leave until friday afternoon because Jason had a mandatory education day to go to.  So we left at around 2:30 and didn't get there until like 9 because of stops. We told Zoey we weren't going to see Brett and Sheila that night because it was too late (they were actually out to dinner with some people they knew). She started bawling! "I just want to go to Baltimore! Where are she she and Brett?!" I called them and they were nice enough to come out and see us even though it took them away from dinner.  We finally headed to our hotel, The Hotel Monaco.  They told Jason we were on the very top floor in the majestic suite.  He bid for the room on priceline so it wasn't like we were paying for some fancy thing.  As we were walking up the bellboy was telling us we had the largest room in the house. We walked in and the room was huge! Big bathroom, big dining room table (random), a little crib for Beck, etc... It was nice, but weird! Where was our bed? Oh yeah it was the pull out couch! They offered a complimentary gold fish for the room if we wanted too. One quick note, Zoey got to choose a toy when they checked in as well. Jason said they just opened a big toy chest full of all kinds of toys and of course my daughter chose an ugly looking stuffed puppy dog! She likes what she likes I guess:) I will stop explaining and just let the pictures explain themselves.  They aren't great pictures, but they show a little of what it was like.
The bathroom with a giant window... thankfully it did have a blind

The next morning we got up, ate cereal in our room and then headed out to explore.  We did a little driving tour and Jason dropped Zoey and I off at the farmers market for a little while.  Later we met Sheila and Brett at the Tow Show.  They got us tickets and it was actually really interesting. Zoey didn't quite know what to think of the big trucks but we had fun visiting and walking around:)

After the Tow Show we got some lunch at Hooters, never been there before, but really good food! Then we went to a big candy store! Brett and Sheila let Zoey get her own bag of whatever candy she wanted (what a nice Aunt and Uncle... they spoil her and us). Then we decided to go to the Maryland Science Center. It ended up being really fun! At first I thought Brett and Sheila could have killed us for taking them there, but I think in the end it was good.  There were so many interesting things to look at and do.  The kids would not nap but as soon as we were done with the museum Zoey crashed hard!

kids waiting patiently at Sheila and Brett's hotel... Aunt Sheila needed flip flops for all the walking we were about to do:)

Trying to fish

she finally got one!

Bed of nails = brave girl

Hurricane winds! Love Zoey trying to open the door...borderline child abuse?!
So tired! Wearing the free tow gear we got from the Tow Show:)

This is how we looked and the day was not over! We still went to dinner and then drove 5 hours back home!
We had such a fun time! We ended the night by going to dinner and saying our goodbyes. I was sad it was such a short trip, but it was so worth it! Zoey got really sad when we got in the car to drive home. It breaks my heart to see how much she loves our family and they are so far away. We ended up getting home at 3am. Can't wait to see them again and everyone else in January in FLORIDA!! Hydes and Stegens! Yay!
